EDD: mid-December
Story of loss(optional): When I was 19 weeks pregnant with my second child, I had appendicitis. They didn't catch it in time, and it ruptured while I was on the operating table. It caused a uterine infection, and 4 weeks later, I went into labor with my daughter, Julia. She was born at 23 weeks 3 days, and lived for 9 hours. This was back in May of 2004, and I have since had 2 more daughters, and am due with my fifth child in December.

DH/SO: Robert/23
DC: Matthew (4-21-06) & Kyleigh (born still at 19 weeks 12-23-07)
EDD: 12-17-08
Story of loss: I had a placental infection called chorioamnionitis and that lead to premature labor. I had 4 u/s throughout the pregnancy bc of bleeding issues and every one of them showed a healthy, active child. It was quite a surprise when I went into labor. My dd was born at 1:30 am on Dec. 23rd, 2007.

EDD: 12/02/2008
Story of loss(optional): In June 07 We went for our 12 week appt and the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat, and ultrasound showed that the baby had been gone for several weeks but my body didn't realize it. Had a D & C the next day. Got pregnant again in Sept 07, never felt very good about it, started spotting at 7 weeks, baby had not heartbeat and measured 5 weeks. Had a natural miscarriage at my own insistence which was a nightmare I would never choose to repeat:) Because I ended up in the ER had testing done on the fetal tissue, baby had trisomy 16, the most common chromosomal disorder. We have no kids, we're hoping third times the charm!

EDD: 12/18/08
Story of loss: I've had two miscarriages, in pretty similar circumstances. In all three of my pregnancies (well, 4 now), I've had bleeding intermittently in the first trimester. Because of the bleeding, the OBs have always checked my HCG levels to be sure they were doubling as they should, and have given early ultrasounds. I lost #1 in Aug. 05 after several normal ultrasounds. Around week 11, the OB was unable to find the heartbeat, and an ultrasound showed that I had lost the baby. DS was born July 06, and even though I bled with him, I carried him to term for some reason. The only thing I know of that was different was that I was given progesterone supplements. I lost #2 in Jan. 08, again after HCG levels that properly doubled and seeing the heartbeat. I had D&C's for both miscarriages.

Story of loss(optional): I went in for my 14 week US and found out that my angel had no HB ..it was the hardest thing that I have ever gone through!! I was in shock. I had to have a d&c two days later. This was January 2008~~~ I think I really truly lost my innocence that day!!! I knew bad things happened to people. I guess I just did not worry about bad things happening to me!!!!

DC: Dashiell (born still 12/25/07) / 1 furbaby (dog - Lucy)
EDD: 12/20
Story of loss(optional): I learned that I was pregnant on 8/4/07. I was shocked, as we hadn't been trying. We were very excited. On Christmas while out of town visiting family, I was concerned because I hadn't felt him move since the day before. I went into the hospital (my sister who I was visiting is an l&d nurse). I found out that my first child, my precious baby boy, had died. It looks as though it was a cord accident, but I'm currently being tested for a rare blood disorder (alloimmune thrombocytopenia), which may have been a cause. I got my BFP on Dashiell's edd, this past Friday, 4/11.

DC: ^Hope^, ^Hayden^ & ^Hensley^ and one furbaby, Leopold
EDD: 12/27/08
Story of loss: In my 1st pregnancy, our daughter, Hope, stopped moving at 21 wks. That kicked off months of testing and second, third, fourth, etc. opinions. Hope had an extremely rare genetic disorder that caused her joints to lock. We have a 25% chance of this happening again. I went into pre-term labor at about 25 weeks, fought it off as long as I could, and delivered at 30 weeks, on Dec. 27. She lived for about 45 minutes. 6 months later, I became pg again, only to discover at our first u/s that it was a blighted ovum, and I would m/c. I waited a painful 4 weeks to m/c naturally. In November 07, pg again, and this time, a tubal pregnancy. I had emergency surgery to remove my baby from my right tube (they saved my tube). I'm now pg with my 4th - due on the date Hope was born! - and praying for a miracle!

DC: Luke (6yrs), Our Angel Jake (11/10/05-7/17/06)
EDD: Dec 18
Story of loss(optional): Our first loss was our 8 month old son, Jake who died because of an accident that occurred while my MIL was watching him. We got pregnant soon after losing him and had a mc at 15 weeks in Dec 06 (our DD stopped growing between 12 & 13 weeks). Our next loss was the in Dec 07 - pretty much the same our DS stopped growing around the same time but this time we found out at 14 weeks. This pg I am very nervous. Both of our babies were fine - no chromosomal abnormalities and both had pasted the translucency test around 11 week. After my 2nd mc they did a full panel of blood test and thought I had anticardiolipin antibodies - but after a re-test they don't thing that anymore - we found this out after we had conceived this time. They did find that I have a MTHFR mutation and I am hoping it caused these mc and we can prevent it from happening again.

Story of loss(optional): I had a m/c my first pregnancy and then went on to have two beautiful DDs. We started trying again and I lost my second angel at 12.5 weeks. Got pregnant as soon as we started trying again, only to lose that angel at 10 weeks. I have tested positive for a blood clotting issue. I am pregnant again and on progesterone, lovenox shots daily, baby aspirin and prenatals.

Story of loss(optional):My story is complex...my husband and I got pregnant the exact same time last year and we carried for 11 weeks. My little muffin was found at my nuchal test without a heartbeat. I somehow knew this if that does not sound strange...I just had a feeling. I was bleeding throughout my pregnancy. So essentially it was a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks found at 12. This started the downward spiral. I had to have a rushed D and C for some reason. I came out of surgery and my vitals were not stable for I had lost a lot of blood but they sent me home anyway.....next day I was in the ER because I could not breath and was dizzy...they kept saying they needed to transfuse me and then for some reason they decided against it and to send me home. All the while in shock I went 2 more days before ending back up in the ER and was hemeraging so bad I had about 12 people in my room. I was filling bed pans with clots. Finally my OBGYN showed up and took me in for another surgery and also told me they may have to give me a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding I was terrified. I did end up receiving a blood transfusion and the hospital kept me overnight this time. I still bled for some time after all of this which freaked me out too. I just feel so blessed to have this baby growing inside me now and I hope and pray everyday that this one makes it
Thank you for listening and letting me be a part of this. By the way..I am not a dramatic person...but last year was horrible. I can share in all your grief.

EDD:12/25/2008
Story of loss(optional): I had my first daughter, Peyton, with no complications. I truly had the perfect pregnancy, felt fine and all ultrasounds were great. When I become pregnant with Addie, we found complications in an u/s at 20 weeks. She had a cleft lip, palate and some other defects, I was immediately sent to a high risk ob. We found that I have transposed chromosomes, meaning part of my 7 chromosome flipped to my 10 and part of my 10 flipped to my 7. So I am balanced and there are no issues. With Addie, her chromosomes were flipping also, but her 10 never made it back to the 7 so there was a deletion. She only lived 3 weeks, but was such a fighter, she had heart surgery at 5 days old and came out of it like a champ. With the last pregnancy, I was 12 weeks and at the u/s found no heartbeat. They did some testing from the d&c and found that the baby had 3 number 7 chromosomes, which resulted in the miscarriage. My husband and I met with a geneticist and she advised we have some scenarios but if I can carry full term, I have an 85% chance that the baby will be fine. It has been frustrating b/c I have a 5 year old that is perfect and we are praying that this baby will be fine as well. I can't tell you how encouraging your stories have been for me today. I have an appointment on June 17 and am waiting impatiently to hear this little angel's heartbeat again.

Story: After our first daughter, we got pg right away. Tessa was 4 months old. It was a total shock. Our AFP test came back abnormally high. We went in for an ultrasound and found out our baby, another girl, had anencephaly. It's a fatal neural tube defect. We chose to carry her to term. DH was getting out of the military and found a job. While we were living with his aunt (waiting to close on our house), I started bleeding and having lots of pain. I couldn't get any OB's to see me b/c we had recently moved, my history and the fact that our insurance paperwork wasn't processed yet. I ended up in the ER a few times and no one did anything about it. It was very frustrating. They knew she wasn't going to live, so they just didn't want to do anything to help us. I went one final time on August 1st and her heart wasn't beating anymore. I was 29wks. She was born 3 days later August 4th. It took a long time for my body to cooperate to induce her. When she was born, my temp was 104. I ended up in the hospital for another week because I had a blood clot and an infection. Calla also had some other issues that make me believe hers was a genetic disorder, possibly a recessive one. The whole series of events was pretty horrible. Multiple doctors really dropped the ball.

I found out that it was a blighted ovum at 7 weeks but didn't start bleeding until 13 weeks; hemmorhaged at 14 weeks and had to be taken to the ER for an emergency D&C. EDD:12-15-08
Story of loss(optional): Soren Blake Shafer was born on Jan 2 2008 at 6:14 pm. He was with us a precious 17 days. He died Jan 20 2008 at 4:10 am.
Soren was born with a few Conginital Heart Defects. He had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Double outlet right ventricle, and pulmonary stenosis.
Soren had open heart surgery on Jan 11.(Norwood) After his surgery his kidneys were not functioning so he was put on a mild form of dialysis. After a few days his kidney started to function again.
Jan 17 Soren was taken off the vent. He was doing so well the Doctors said I could take him home soon. He just needed to learn to eat. He had never eaten by mouth so he did not know how to suck.
Jan 18 His Big Sisters got to come visit him. What a great day! Brayden had a cold so he did not come for a visit, to much risk of getting Soren sick.
Jan 19 4:00 am I recieved a call for the hospital that they had to put him back on the vent. When I got to the hospital at 7 am he looked so sick. Throught the day his stomach became more and more distended and rigid. They ran some tests and decided they needed to do emergency exploration surgery on his abdomen. This was about 3 pm. He was only in surgery about a half an hour which was supose to take a couple of hours. They told us that his heart was not able to get enough oxygenated blood to his digestive organs and everything had died. there was nothing they could do at that point.
Jan 20. We held him and kissed him and I held him as he died.
I miss my Beautiful Baby. I will never forget you Soren. Never was there a baby more loved or wanted. You were a remarkable little boy. In just 17 days you completed what God sent you here for. You did what takes most of us a lifetime in just a few short days. Even God knew how special you were and called you home. I love you so much.

My contractions started getting closer together and stronger! 30 minutes later, i was on the toilet and my water broke! Then the baby started coming out! So i screamed and started freaking out! My hubby took me to the ER and i gave birth to a stillborn baby girl! She was very little!! She wasn’t developing right so she couldn’t hold on any longer! I still think about her everyday and i miss her so much! But we are blessed to have a beautiful healthy 19 month baby girl and another baby, a boy, due in just 4 months!

Name: Sara/Snobordnwifey
DH: Stephen 28
DC: Tessa, 5, Selah, 3, and Aria , 7 months
Name/SC: Quincy,26/qvest
DH: Cameron, 28
DC: Connor, 6
Story: I have had 2 m/c and have been TTC for 3 years. My first was Aug, 05 and I had a serious infection that caused it, then we tried and tried until last Aug BFP and then in Sept, another one, this one atleast was as they say a regular one. Now here I am and exactly 1w 1d after the first one happened and feeling really good about everything. I'm just anxiously awaiting my appt on the 17th to hear the hb for the first time.
Name/Age: Kristin/31
DH/SO: DH Jeff/31
DC: Three furbabies - mini long haired doxie Kermit, 2 cats - Nala and Kiara
EDD: 12/20/08
Story of loss(optional): I had two early m/c's - one in 11/06 and one in 9/07. Both were diagnosed as blighted ovums. The first happened naturally at 10 weeks - my doctor insisted that the second happen naturally. I found out that it was a blighted ovum at 7 weeks but didn't start bleeding until 13 weeks; hemmorhaged at 14 weeks and had to be taken to the ER for an emergency D&C. No testing has been done because my insurance won't cover it until I've had 3 m/c's. I'm currently on baby aspirin and folic acid. I was on progesterone up until last Friday when I hit my 12 week mark.

DH/SO: Mike
DC:June 16; Aeryn 5; Sarah 4; Jackson still born at 32 weeks July 4, 2007
EDD: November 28
Story of loss(optional): There was nothing to indicate that our baby was in distress. I noticed that he had not moved that day and went into the hospital. They could not find the heartbeat, and later my primary Dr. confirmed that Jack had died. We decided to deliver that night rather than wait for nature to take its course. We have never identified a reason his death.
Name/Age:Jennifer Shafer 30
DH/SO:Scott Shafer We had our 10 year anniversay this year!
DC:Allison 10, Jocelyn7, Brayden 5, Soren Our Angel 1-2-08 to 1-20-08
EDD:12-15-08
Name/Age: Vita, 21
DH/SO: Vlad, 22
DC: Baby Angel Elizabeth (1/25/06), Isabella (1/09/07)
EDD: December 13, 08
Story of loss(optional):When Vlad and I got married, we wanted to get pregnant right away! It took us 5 months to get pregnant! I was 23 weeks pregnant when I woke up at 2am with stomach aches! I thought it was gas and I went to the bathroom to not wake my hubby up! Well it wasn’t gas!

Hi Gals,
AMY - I thought the same thing yesterday - you're team blue x2! Thanks so much for setting this up. It will take some getting used to, but I think it's a great option.
JENNIFER - How were you able to post your siggies?
Allison

I think I did it as a link, I can;t remember exactly! I will have to fool around again to remember exactly how I did it. I had never used one before! You would think I would remember it was just yesterday! I will try it again and let you know.
I have a dr appt today with the right risk specialist so I will be on later if I have any news.

Jennifer - Good luck today at the doctor.
I just tried to add my signature - If it worked I'll post instructions. I have a feeling it didn't work.
Hope you all have a great day - I have an appt. at 4:10 today.

Adding Signature
1. Go to Profile and click on Preference tab
2. Change "Always attach my signature" - to Yes
3. Save changes
4. Go to Profile and click on Signature tab
5. I had to rebuild my ticker to get the BBCode from the ticker site. (there may be an easier way)
6. Paste BBCode and Save.
This worked for me - but I would be interested in how Jennifer did her's if she did it differently. Her signature doesn't have the line that mine does.

Re: September Thread
Ok, I made a special thread for us to put all of our appts on! This site could be tons of fun, ladies....
Oh, please start any topics you would like! I'm on another private forum and there are so many different topics, from poems and scripture to recipes. And, of course, belly and u/s pics.

Re: September Thread
Hello Everyone!
I had my appt today and everything looked great that they could see. The one area of concern they were not able to see. The baby was positioned so that his heart was just under my belly button. They said they can't see it because the belly button casts shadows and makes it impossible to get a look. I also was told they have new findings that HLHS can not be ruled out by 20 because sometimes the heart if it has something wrong will have all four chambers at 20 weeks and when the problem presents it self the side not being "used" right will shrink/shrivel up. They said they will be another scan for this at 30 weeks. 30 weeks is the same gestation when I found out about Soren having HLHS. Now I am worried all over again! I thought I was in the clear! The ultrasound tech told me that just last week a Mom came in who had been seen there since the beginning of the pregnancy, at 30 weeks they found HLHS and at 20 weeks the scan showed a perfect 4 chamber heart. Please remember me in your prayers, I just want to know everything is going to be ok. But each time I go I find out something I did not want to hear. I am trying to stay positive.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. Easton weighs 1 lb 11 oz. That was cool to find out. He is right on track. I got to see him again, and that is always nice. I know I am biased, because he is my child, but he is extremely cute even if he looks a like a skeleton now!
Can't wait to see him in the flesh!
